Wherever you are in your spiritual journey, I want to encourage you to keep on growing in your knowledge of Jesus. I say this because I believe Jesus is the only possible way to find true joy, peace, love, and happiness in the world.
“Watch yourselves, so that you may not lose what we have worked for, but may win a full reward” 2 John 1:8
This verse has been a point of encouragement that I’ve always looked back on when times get tough throughout my walk with God. The apostle John wrote this verse to remind us that if we are seeking Jesus, we should never give up! We must hold all that we know of Jesus close to our hearts and continue to strive to know more of his perfect character. The more we know and develop a relationship with Jesus, the closer we become to experiencing his full reward.
So how do you grow in your relationship with Jesus? READ YOUR BIBLE
The Bible can be intimidating if we don’t know how to read it correctly. Jesus even warns us in the Bible that there are false teachers and wicked people who try to deceive us from accessing God’s true character.
“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17
This is why Jesus encourages us to study scripture for ourselves. Just because someone proclaims something in the name of Jesus Christ, does not always mean that it is coming from God’s true character. If someone tells you to do something, you should make sure that it aligns with what God’s word says. The proof is in the Bible. Praise God that we have free access to his words every single day.
